Helge Leiro Baastad (1960) has been the CEO of Gjensidige since 2003. He is s member of the board of Finance Norway, (the Norwegian federation for banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions), Kavli Holding AS, and Ungt Entreprenørskap (Junior Achievement young enterprise Norway).
Baastad joined the company in 1998 as manager of the retail. In 2000 he was appointed executive vice president with responsibility for group marketing and support functions. He has previously held various senior management positions with Jordan AS and Denofa Lilleborg Fabrikker. Baastad holds a degree from the Norwegian School of Economics based on a four year program in economics and business administration consisting of three years at bachelor/undergraduate level and one year at master/graduate Level.
